Terms of use

1. Scope and agreement

These terms apply to the amen iOS app and its Bible, prayer and Christian reflection features. Contact support at amenapphilfe@gmail.com with questions about the agreement. Apple's relationship with you for its own App Store services follows the rules applicable to your storefront; see Apple App Store terms and usage rules.

A contract is formed through the applicable registration, acceptance or purchase process after the relevant terms and offer are made available. Mere publication of these terms is not a substitute for acceptance where it is required. An individual agreement and mandatory law take precedence over inconsistent general wording.

2. What amen provides

Amen supports Christian Bible reading, prayer and reflection through saved verses, highlights, notes, devotionals, reading progress and related features. Depending on the version and access level, it also provides Bible comics, wallpapers, touch-controlled 360° scenes, background music, Days with Jesus and widgets. Nema uses an enhanced Google AI model to provide AI chat. Some reading recommendations and audio features also use AI; Bible Lock uses Apple's Screen Time functions.

The actual offer and purchase screen define paid access. Some media must be downloaded before use, and saving or sharing content remains subject to its license. These terms do not promise a fixed number of free messages, a particular AI model, every Bible translation, perpetual operation or features advertised for a different version. Descriptions and contractual commitments that law makes binding remain binding.

3. Using amen and external services

You must have the legal capacity to enter the relevant agreement or legally effective parental or guardian authorization where required. Use external services in accordance with their applicable conditions. Nema uses Google AI services; the provider's conditions are available at Google AI service terms.

Child-data and consent requirements depend on local law. Purchases require the payment and family authorization applicable to the Apple account used. The app's content rating does not override legal requirements or the conditions of another service.

4. Accounts and account security

Amen can create a guest account during onboarding without an email address or Apple sign-in. Guest access depends on authentication information available to the app and does not provide the same sign-in and recovery options as a linked account. Existing supported accounts can use the available returning-user Apple or email/password login. Certain functions need a working account and network access. Protect account access and notify support if you suspect unauthorized use; you are not automatically responsible for every action caused by a failure outside your control. Do not use another person’s account without authorization.

The available Apple option can link or transfer supported guest-account information. Successful authentication, existing account information and app compatibility affect linking and synchronization; locally stored notes and highlights are separate. Contact support about missing information after a sign-in change. Choosing a display name does not give you a right to infringe trademarks or impersonate another person. Keep a separate copy of information important to you; this recommendation does not reduce amen's duty to provide a conforming service.

5. License to use the app

You receive a limited, non-exclusive right to use the app personally on compatible devices you own or control, subject to the applicable agreement and law. The applicable app license is available at Apple standard license agreement. Apple's usage and Family Sharing rules are available at Apple App Store terms and usage rules. The software's intellectual-property ownership is not transferred.

Do not redistribute or commercially exploit the app, bypass access controls, interfere with security or extract content unlawfully. Restrictions do not remove rights that mandatory law grants, including permitted interoperability, accessibility, lawful quotations or other statutory exceptions. Suspension and termination are governed by the provisions below rather than unrestricted revocation.

6. Bible texts and spiritual content

Bible translations, commentary, artwork and other material can belong to amen or third-party licensors. Translation wording and denominational interpretations can differ. A generated paraphrase is not an exact Bible quotation; verify references and quotations against the translation you intend to use.

Use the in-app sharing features within their stated purpose and respect attribution and third-party licenses. Access through the app does not automatically grant rights to reproduce an entire translation, create a competing database or publish protected material commercially. Statutory quotation and other lawful-use rights remain available.

7. Nema and AI-generated output

Nema uses an enhanced Google AI model for Bible questions and Christian reflection. Responses are generated by AI and may contain inaccurate statements, invented quotations, incorrect references or incomplete interpretations. Read answers thoughtfully and check important Bible quotations against the translation you use.

Check important answers independently. Similar outputs may be generated for others, and legal protection or exclusivity of generated material is not guaranteed. Do not represent an AI response as verified professional advice or as an authentic statement by another person. Feature availability, response speed and provider model choices can vary subject to your contractual and statutory rights.

8. Professional advice and emergencies

Amen offers reading and reflection support. It does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, psychotherapy, legal or financial advice, emergency monitoring or a confidential pastoral relationship. A spiritual conversation is not a substitute for advice from a qualified person who understands your circumstances.

If you face immediate danger, contact your local emergency service or an appropriate crisis service. Do not rely on a chat being reviewed or answered by a human in time. Do not make medication, safety, legal or financial decisions solely from AI output. These limitations do not exclude liability where the law does not permit exclusion.

9. Bible Lock, permissions and device functions

Bible Lock depends on Apple authorization, supported system frameworks and the apps, app categories, supported web domains and schedules you select. It can restrict selected activity as configured. Review selections before enabling it and retain access to essential device functions. You can manage authorization in system settings.

Operating-system restrictions, expired authorization, device settings or interruptions can affect blocking and unlocking. The feature is a personal routine aid and does not guarantee parental supervision, safety, treatment or uninterrupted enforcement. Reading recommendations can be generated by AI and must be reviewed like other AI content.

10. Your content and permissions you grant

You keep the rights you hold in messages, notes, images and other submitted material. You permit amen and necessary service providers to process, store and transmit it only as needed to provide the requested functions, maintain security and meet lawful obligations, subject to the privacy policy and applicable law.

This is not a general permission to publish private chats, use your name in advertising or train models for unrelated purposes. Provider AI processing is explained in Privacy policy. Submit only content you may lawfully use and avoid unnecessary sensitive information about other people. Shared or exported copies can remain with their recipients.

11. Acceptable use

Do not use amen to commit unlawful acts, threaten or harass people, exploit children, infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights, distribute malicious software, obtain unauthorized access or deliberately evade safety and payment controls. Do not automate excessive requests that impair the service or bypass legitimate usage limits.

Good-faith religious discussion, questions and criticism are not themselves abuse. Restrictions must be applied proportionately and consistently with mandatory law. Report suspected misuse, infringements or security problems to amenapphilfe@gmail.com with enough detail to investigate, without sending unnecessary personal or illegal material.

12. Paid access and the purchase offer

Amen Plus provides paid access through an Apple subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. It includes unlimited Nema conversations, premium Home and Lock Screen widgets and priority responses. Some new features may be offered to Plus users first. Before you confirm, the purchase interface shows the product, price, currency, billing period, trial or promotional conditions and included access. The specific offer defines your purchased access, subject to statutory rights.

Prices and availability can vary by storefront, tax treatment, product and offer eligibility. Purchases are charged through your Apple account, and purchase validation services help recognize your access. Amen does not receive your full payment-card number. A trial or promotion applies only when included in the confirmation screen; see Apple App Store terms and usage rules for Apple's rules.

13. Trials and promotional offers

All new users are offered a 7-day free trial of Amen Plus at the end of onboarding. Apple's purchase confirmation shows the trial eligibility, renewal price and conditions. After trial access ends, continued app use requires an active Amen Plus subscription or a valid lifetime purchase. Cancel before Apple's displayed deadline to prevent automatic billing.

For a free or discounted trial, Apple advises cancellation at least 24 hours before the trial ends if you do not want renewal. The reminder mentioned during onboarding refers to Apple's trial-ending email, not an email from amen. Apple controls its delivery and timing; receipt is not guaranteed. Keep track of the renewal date in your Apple subscription settings; disabling notifications or removing the app does not stop billing.

14. Automatic renewal and cancellation

Auto-renewing subscriptions continue for the stated billing period until canceled under Apple’s applicable rules. Manage cancellation in your device’s Apple account subscription settings or follow Apple subscription cancellation. The subscription screen shows renewal dates and access after cancellation; store rules and mandatory law determine the result.

Deleting the app, deleting your amen account, signing out, emailing a cancellation request to amen or revoking permissions does not itself cancel an Apple-managed subscription. Price changes follow Apple’s notice and consent processes and applicable law. We do not claim a right to raise an existing price without required notice or agreement.

15. Restoring purchases and one-time access

Use the available restore-purchases function with the Apple account that made the purchase. Sign in with Apple for amen and the Apple account used for App Store purchases serve different purposes. App sign-in alone does not purchase, cancel or guarantee restoration of a subscription. Access can depend on successful Apple validation, account association, device compatibility and the product's actual sharing conditions. Contact support if a validated purchase is not recognized.

A one-time or lifetime product does not auto-renew unless the offer expressly says otherwise. Its scope follows the purchase description and mandatory law; it does not automatically promise operation for the buyer's lifetime or every future service. We cannot retrospectively reduce an agreed entitlement simply by redefining it in these terms.

16. Refunds and purchase problems

For Apple-billed purchases, use Apple refund requests or reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund or investigate billing. Eligibility depends on the applicable store rules, circumstances and law. Amen can help investigate access problems but cannot promise that Apple will grant every refund request.

This routing does not remove statutory remedies against a responsible trader. Report failures, duplicate access charges or a nonconforming service to us as well where appropriate. No clause here makes all purchases nonrefundable or requires you to abandon rights to repair, price reduction, termination or reimbursement.

17. Consumer withdrawal rights

Where applicable consumer law grants a withdrawal period, including the usual 14-day period for relevant distance contracts in the EEA, the purchase-specific information and law determine your rights and the responsible recipient. Contact the seller identified in your purchase documentation and amen where it is the contracting party.

For digital content or services, immediate supply may affect withdrawal only if the legal conditions are met, including any required express request, consent, acknowledgment and contract confirmation. Downloading an app or reading these terms does not automatically waive withdrawal. You may use a clear statement of withdrawal; a particular form is not mandatory unless the law says otherwise.

18. Statutory rights for digital services

Mandatory rights relating to conformity, security updates and remedies remain in force. Where the applicable law requires them, you can request that a defect be remedied and, under the relevant conditions, seek price reduction or termination. A paid feature must match binding contractual descriptions.

These protections can also apply to some services supplied in exchange for personal data rather than money. A statement that AI can make errors or that networks can fail does not remove every duty to provide a conforming service. Tell us about a defect with useful technical details so we can assess and remedy it.

19. Service changes and updates

We may provide updates, security fixes and proportionate changes needed to operate or improve the service. For changes to an ongoing digital service, we will follow applicable requirements concerning contractual grounds, information, additional cost and any right to terminate when a change negatively affects access or use beyond a minor extent.

We will not rely on a blanket right to remove paid features without consequence. Material changes affecting your contract require the notice and agreement required by law. Install required updates after receiving appropriate information; effects of declining an update depend on law and the circumstances.

20. Availability and technical requirements

Some functions need an internet connection, compatible iOS version, Apple permissions, active authentication and available third-party services. Maintenance, outages, provider limits or device conditions can interrupt service. We cannot promise uninterrupted access, identical output or permanent availability of a particular model.

Where an interruption prevents delivery of contracted access, your applicable remedies remain available. We will assess reported failures and take reasonable corrective steps. You are responsible for your own connection and device costs, but that responsibility does not excuse an amen defect.

21. Suspension, enforcement and review

We may restrict access when reasonably necessary for a serious breach, misuse, a security risk, nonpayment or a legal duty. The response should be proportionate. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and allow an opportunity to resolve the issue or request review before a lasting restriction.

Immediate action may be needed where delay would create a risk or notice is legally prohibited. Contact amenapphilfe@gmail.com if you think a restriction is wrong. Paid-access consequences and any refund or termination rights are determined by the contract and mandatory law, not an unrestricted right to block without explanation.

22. Ending use and deleting an account

You can stop using amen and request account deletion through the app or support. Uninstalling alone does not remove cloud account information, and some device-only notes, highlights or preferences can remain separately from the account. See Privacy policy for controls, deletion requests, lawful retention and backups. Save information you wish to keep before requesting deletion.

Cancel an Apple subscription separately to stop future billing. App removal, account deletion or ending access does not automatically cancel that store contract. If amen ends a service or your contract, we will follow applicable notice, paid-access and consumer-remedy duties. Clauses that necessarily continue, such as accrued claims and lawful retention, remain subject to law.

23. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, fraud, a binding guarantee or liability that mandatory law makes non-excludable, including applicable product liability. Mandatory consumer compensation and refund rights are preserved.

Where German law permits, liability for simple negligence involving an essential contractual obligation is limited to foreseeable damage typical for the contract; essential obligations are those necessary to perform the agreement and on which you may normally rely. Other limitations apply only to the extent lawful in your jurisdiction. There is no blanket exclusion of all damage, AI-related harm or data loss.

24. Apple rules and related information

App Store purchases and usage follow Apple's applicable terms: Apple App Store terms and usage rules. The applicable app license is available at Apple standard license agreement, and Apple's privacy information at Apple privacy policy. These references explain Apple's own services and do not replace amen's responsibilities for the app.

Use Apple's cancellation and refund processes for Apple-billed subscriptions and purchases. External services and device functions have their own conditions, permissions and availability requirements. These rules apply alongside mandatory consumer rights; referring you to Apple or another provider does not remove responsibilities associated with amen.

25. Privacy and consent

See Privacy policy for data categories, providers, AI processing, analytics, legal bases and your rights. The policy is not a blanket consent form. Processing that requires consent, especially optional tracking or religious and other special-category information, needs a valid separate basis and any required explicit consent.

Neither acceptance of these terms nor Apple tracking permission automatically authorizes every sensitive-data use. Withdrawal and deletion requests are handled under the applicable data-protection rules. Contract and purchase rights remain distinct from privacy permissions.

26. Applicable law and complaints

German law applies to the extent a valid choice is permitted. For consumers, this does not take away mandatory protections of the country of habitual residence where applicable. Jurisdiction follows the law; these terms do not require every consumer to sue at the provider’s location or submit to mandatory private arbitration.

Send complaints to amenapphilfe@gmail.com. Any legally required information about an appropriate alternative dispute-resolution body or participation will be supplied for the relevant dispute. The former EU online dispute-resolution platform closed in 2025 and is not presented as an available complaint route.

27. Revisions, language and severability

The date and version above identify this text. New wording is not automatically binding on an existing contract merely because it is published or you continue to browse. For changes requiring acceptance, we will obtain it; for other permitted changes, we will give the notice and rights required by law.

All six translations are intended to have the same meaning. English fallback is a technical choice, not a rule that overrides mandatory local-language or consumer protections. If a clause is invalid, the applicable statutory rule governs and the remainder continues where legally possible; an invalid clause is not automatically replaced by the most provider-favorable wording.

Include the product or feature concerned and a concise description. Share an order reference only when needed and avoid passwords, full card details and unnecessary private conversation content. These contact instructions do not restrict legally valid notices or require use of a particular channel where the law permits another.
